Corporal REGINALD SYKES of the Rifle Brigade was killed in action on September 15th. He was at School from 1898 to 1902, and played on the second football and cricket teams, afterwards going to Rossall. He was a member of the Whalley Range Cricket Club, the Old Hulmeians Football Club and the Manchester Rugby Club, having played half-back for Lancashire on several occasions. Joining the army in August, 1914, he went to France in the following May, and was wounded in August, 1915. He was 28 years of age, and before enlisting was in practice as a solicitor in Manchester.
